Hello!
Thanks for being part of this journey. And No. This is not a goodbye.
The people who follow me on notes already know that I have been thinking about merging my two newsletters into one. And while talking to you people and the interaction I have had on the platform with other creators and readers, I have come to a conclusion that it would be best for all of us if I shift this publication to The Indian Story.
What it means?
All the posts and subscribers will be shifted to The Indian Story.
I will continue to upload whatever I did here like stories of Tales of Dead Sisters, dark fantasy stories, Around the world and the ongoing Valentine week love story. But on the other page.
With that, you will also get Quirky Indians, Riva and Koel, and other planned stories.
So, it will be double the fun.
Why?
I understand that it is not fair for the readers to pay for two subscriptions if they want access to my paid stuff, when essentially both the newsletters deal in fiction. I want to create a library of good content at one place so that it would be easier for everyone to navigate.
My priorities and goals have also changed along the way. I want to focus my time and efforts on writing pieces that I love and connect with. While I still submit to various magazines, I want to write different and exclusive stuff for my readers here.
And I would rather write a robust newsletter than run two dead accounts.
I have to give a big shout out to Sarah fay and her workshops for this decision. I have been running around like a headless chicken till now, posting everything that came to mind with the mentality of do it now and figure it out later. This has led to a bit of mess and now I am here to handle it.
When I started this page in September, it was an outlet for my stories that were not finding home at the magazines. I was exhausted with long waiting times and numerous rejections. I knew my stories had potential and I wanted people to read them, thus publishing them myself became the only way.
However, since then, I have found good community here and started writing specifically for the platform and readers. I had so much fun writing about The Suff, I love writing little snippets for Thorny Thursdays, and the community project of The Macabre Dinner was a creative endeavor I never thought possible.
And then the other newsletter came naturally to me. Again, I never thought that people would enjoy Quirky Indians so much (knock on the wood). Or that I would enjoy playing the prompt game with Riva and Koel, but here we are. And I can never let go of writing fantasy stories so this seems to be the best way forward.
There are some of you who subscribe to both, but most of the subscribers are divided, and I want to bring them together.
If you do decide to stay on, thank you and welcome again to the community. You don’t have to do anything else but know that now you will get mails from ‘The Indian Story’ rather than ‘Story’.
However, if you want to, you can unsubscribe.
So, Sayonara, Phir milenege dubara.
I will see you soon on The Indian Story.
